MISSION TRIP UPDATE
Patrick Morrison

It is certainly good to be back home.  Johnny and Nita Boyd, Abby Morrison, and I spent a week in the ShowLow, Arizona area.  We were definitely spoiled by the fantastic weather of the White Mountains.  Temperatures were in the mid-80’s with relatively no humidity.  I wish we could bottle it up and bring this weather back to Arkansas!
For those of you who may not know much about the ShowLow, Arizona area, it is Mormon country.  The vast majority of the religious community is Mormon.  Many businesses are Mormon-owned.  The newspaper is Mormon-owned.  The radio-stations are Mormon owned.  Denominationalism is also very prevalent, as it is most anywhere in the world.  Almost any man-made religious organization can be found there.  Despite all of Satan’s devices, the word of God has been planted, and many have allowed it to grow and flourish in their hearts.  The Woodland Road Church of Christ is small in number, but they are sound in the faith.  There are isolated pockets of Christians around ShowLow.  Unfortunately, many of these groups have strayed from God’s word.
We certainly enjoyed being a part of the Vacation Bible School and gospel meeting at Woodland Road.  Three precious souls were baptized into Christ while we were there.  Continue to remember this congregation of the Lord’s church in your prayers.
