We recently completed our third quarterly Bible Bowl at the Mabelvale Church of Christ.  The number of people involved and the enthusiasm exhibited by all has certainly exceeded my expectations!  While the response has been fantastic, there is still much room to grow.  We are attempting to get more congregations involved in this great effort.  We are also trying to get more of the young people involved with the Bible Bowl in the congregations who are presently participating.  One individual involved with the Bible Bowl well said, “These young people are learning the Bible better then they ever have before.”  This is not at all to say that they are not learning the Bible at home or in Bible class.  It is to say that this is a fantastic opportunity for your children to learn God’s word, and that is the primary goal behind the Bible Bowl.
     Parents, I want to encourage you to get your children involved in the Bible Bowl.  It is open for all kids from 3rd-12th grades.  You will be amazed at how much they will learn and retain.  And if you become involved with them, you will learn as well.  This is a perfect opportunity to show our young people what is top priority in our lives.  God’s word, the church, and our relationship with both should be first and foremost in our hearts and minds.  There is no reason why your child should not be involved in the Bible Bowl.  Let’s show them what it truly means to seek first the kingdom of God.
