AROUND MABELVALE
Dennis Gulledge

What’s going on around Mabelvale?  Here are just a few activities of the church at Mabelvale in which you may be interested.

Arkansas Rice Depot
Food has been brought in from the Arkansas Rice Depot and stored upstairs.  Volunteers picked up and delivered food supplies last week.  The Mabelvale church will be much better equipped to assist people who need food.
Transportation
The van is now running for those individuals who would like or need a ride to Bible classes and worship services.  Jim Wallace is the deacon in charge, and he is looking for drivers.  Please let Jim know if you can assist.
Disaster Relief
Ray Bryan is driving an ambitious program of disaster relief for the Mabelvale congregation.  When all of this comes together we should be better prepared to make a difference in helping those who are hurt by disaster.
Pew Packers
Patrick Morrison has already begun his Pew Packers class that meets at the front of the auditorium at 5:25 on Sunday evenings.  This is a wonderful time of fun and learning for the smaller children.  Let’s do all we can to encourage this group!
Brecheen and Faulkner Marriage Enrichment Film Series
The Adult class taught by Dennis Gulledge and Dale Morris on Wednesday nights will begin viewing the marriage enrichment seminar videos by brethren Carl Brecheen and Paul Faulkner on November 3rd.  The eight videos will involve studies for the months of November and December.  I used these in a class nine years ago.  It would be good for us to view them again.  The material is always timely and needed.
All Comers Class
The Tuesday morning Bible class is studying the book of Proverbs.  We would like to encourage new members to join us in this class.  We have wonderful discussions in the marvelous book of Proverbs.  Judy Morris has some great trips planned that will be coming up soon.  We will take our annual fall foliage driving tour on October 26th.  We will be traveling up to Leslie, Arkansas to enjoy what we hope will be beautiful fall colors. And, of course, coming up in November will be our annual shopping trip to Hot Springs that is always so much fun.  We hope that you can join us.
Highers-Blakely Debate
On October 20th, with the anticipated absence of both Dale Morris and myself, our Wednesday night class will have the opportunity to view the first two speeches of the debate between Alan Highers and Given O. Blakely in keeping with our study of instrumental music in the worship.
